Deon Norris is a finance industry expert with over a decade of experience, specializing in accounting, audit, internal controls, process improvement, and tax advisement. Deon has been an asset to diverse clients, including the U.S. Government, individuals, small businesses, Fortune 500 companies, and non-profits. He has managed budgets exceeding $30 billion, formulated strategic financial plans, and built strong stakeholder relationships. His career includes roles at Big 4 firms like Deloitte and KPMG, which have been instrumental in shaping his leadership skills. A U.S. Army Paratrooper Veteran, Deon served as the comptroller for a Special Forces Battalion, and he actively supports veterans, first responders, and educators.
Educationally well-rounded, Deon holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting, a Master’s in Marketing, and an MBA. He is a licensed CPA in Maryland and Virginia and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Deon’s excellence has earned him recognition as a “Power Player” and “Best CPA in Washington DC” by DC Magazine, with multiple TV appearances in the DC market. Charles has provided accounting and tax services for over 40 years. Charles was a tax manager for Grant Thornton before starting his own firm. He previously worked as a partner in Wight & Walsh, LLC since 1990.

Charles has extensive experience in all tax matters, including estate planning, tax planning, business formation and termination, and tax compliance. He holds a master’s in taxation from American University and is a certified business valuation expert.

Deanna specializes in accounting, tax, and consulting services for businesses and individuals. She has extensive experience in tax compliance, tax planning, and providing management consulting services for closely held businesses and their owners. With 40 years of experience, Deanna is committed to building strong client relationships. This approach allows her to understand clients’ needs, risks, and goals, enabling her to provide tailored advice. Deanna earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Towson State University. She is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Society of Accounting and Tax Professionals. Additionally, she has served on the Board of Directors for for-profit and non-profit organizations.

Deanna enjoys life on the Eastern Shore with her husband. Boating on the Chesapeake Bay and riding bikes with and without motors are her favorite.

Leslie Schmeidler is a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of expertise in both the public and private sectors. A graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Accounting, she earned her CPA designation in 1995. Leslie’s primary focus is on small business tax and accounting, where she is dedicated to helping clients navigate complex financial landscapes. Outside of her professional life, Leslie enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family.


Garland is a dedicated tax professional who delights in helping individuals and families through the often-confusing complexities of estate and trust taxation. Garland holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Maryland. She has over 20 years of experience in the tax preparation field and earned the Enrolled Agent certification from the IRS in 2012. While specializing in estate and trust work, she also enjoys working with individuals on their personal taxes.

JoAnn has over 25 years of experience in tax in both public and private industry. Her primary focus over the last several years has been on compliance and planning for high-net-worth individuals, as well as their businesses, charitable entities, and investments. The emphasis is on real estate, mostly held in tiered partnership structures and closely held businesses. JoAnn brings a broad base of experience in both accounting and tax, serving a diverse set of clean nts, giving her the background to provide valuable advice to her clients. JoAnn also has a solid working knowledge of state income taxation and US reporting requirements for clients holding international investments.

JoAnn is an avid reader of federal tax updates, which helps her maintain the technical knowledge required to work in the constantly changing tax laws.

Outside the office, JoAnn enjoys spending time with her family and loves the outdoors. She spends as much time as possible on her bike, whether that is riding single track on her mountain bike or touring the countryside on her road bike.


Marcie Karl attended the University of Maryland and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. After college, she joined a CPA firm in Bethesda before moving to the Bay Area in California five years later. There, Marcie began working in corporate accounting as a regional controller. After marrying and having her daughter, she and her husband moved back to the DC area, where she worked part-time as an in-house accountant while raising her two children. Once they started school, she re-entered the world of public accounting. Marcie has over 35 years of experience and specializes in corporate and non-profit tax returns and accounting. She is also a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Marcie enjoys spending time with her family, going to the gym, and taking her labradoodle on long walks. She is an avid Steelers fan too!

Patti is the office manager for the Olney, MD location; she is responsible for the implementation and ongoing maintenance of all office policies and procedures as well as the management of the inventory and ordering of office supplies. She uses a variety of software packages to produce correspondence and documents. She is also responsible for invoicing and processing payments. She greets and welcomes all visitors, answers phones, and directs the calls to the appropriate person. She also assists in answering general inquiries from clients by phone, email, or fax. In addition, she provides accounting services to select clients.


Helen is the office manager for the National Harbor, MD location; she is responsible for the implementation and ongoing maintenance of all office policies and procedures and the inventory and ordering of office supplies. Bill is a graduate of Frostburg State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and passed the CPA exam in 1994. Bill has over 35 years of experience in public accounting and provides accounting, tax return preparation, and tax compliance services to individuals, businesses, trusts, and estates. In addition, he assists clients with tax planning to minimize their liability and provides consulting services to small business clients. He also assists in reviewing staff-prepared income tax returns and assists with their training and professional development. He has experience working with the IRS and state tax agencies assisting clients with solving their tax problems. Bill is a lifetime Montgomery County resident and enjoys spending time with family, hiking and watching the Washington Commanders.
